Do
you love seashells? I do! And the beach and the ocean and the sound
of waves crashing against the shore. The smell of the sea at dusk...I
love everything about the sea - if it's coastal, I'm there! When you
visit the tiny beach cove called SheaShells®
SeaShells, you'll realize you have reached a special nook carved out
of my love of the sea and shore and where you will find one of a kind
handcrafted beach wedding and beach home decor, created from the extraordinary
gems of the ocean.
I'm Carolyn Shea, owner & designer of SheaShells SeaShells. SheaShells was conceived way before it was even a twinkle in my eye... You see, all of my life I dreamed that my Wedding would be by the Ocean, with waves crashing against the shore, the sun setting on the horizon and my toes curling into white soft sand, looking into the eyes of my one true Love... When the right guy finally came along, we unquestioningly agreed on a beach wedding - I knew then that he really was the right guy! Being a lifelong Artist, I decided to make the centerpieces myself and I wanted to design something special to make our seashell theme Wedding truly unique and truly ours, which would reflect our deep passion for the sea & the shore. Determined to create beautiful little sand dunes on each table, I came up with permanent arrangements, made with dried and silk flowers and seagrasses, real seashells, sand and the feeling of a wild dune. They were a big hit with my guests and the ones lucky enough to take one home still display them! Since our wedding, a wealth of ideas has sprung up from these early designs and my creations have evolved into more than seashell centerpieces! I now also make seashell and silk floral wreaths & wall decor, seashell necklaces, beach bridal favors and much more! I love what I do with nature's gifts and love that I have the opportunity to share my art with the world, using treasures from the beach like colorful shells, driftwood, berries and dried grasses. So here I am, ready to make your vision come true as well! I take requests and can personalize your wreaths if you'd like. I feel so fortunate to have been able to make my love of the sea part of my everyday life... From beach weddings to beach home decor, sea shells are with me forever (and so is Craig!) | Welcome
to my Sand Castle - Sea shells inspire me and thrill my creative soul. I could play with them for hours, creating the fanciful beachy home accents that fill our small urban apartment, transforming it into a romantic beach cottage. Playing with my sea shells makes me feel like a child again and when creating new shell designs in my tiny city studio, in my mind's eye I'm miles away, listening to seagulls sing. I love the beach and the ocean and the sound of waves crashing against the shore. And when I'm playing with my shells I can hear the sea call. |

Imagine
yourself at the beach, surrounded by the myriads of colors and shapes,
some shells rough, some shells smooth, some with sharp points that look
prehistoric, some shells as white as snow. Now picture yourself at home,
with the same hues and shapes, the same beauty of the sea within your
living space. Nice thought isn't it?|
Some of our wonderful Beach Wedding Vendors When Craig and I finally found each other, we were firmly established in Manhattan with little resources to travel to the Greek Isles for what we pictured as the perfect seaside wedding.....so we did some research. We discovered a beautiful rambling Victorian Yacht Club on City Island in the Bronx, right on the Long Island Sound. With amazing caterers at our side, we designed a beautiful Lobster/Clambake Wedding - we could never have done it without them, they even referred us to the local minister who performed our Wedding! Our ceremony was overlooking the Sound with a view of our beloved New York skyline in the far distance. So far everything was perfect - we had the place and the food, but what about the cake? After several tastings at some very pricey bakers in Manhattan, we discovered a wonderful seashell cake designer in Rhode Island that delivered to our location and made the process as smooth as buttercream! And so delicious! This group was the best of the best and I highly recommend them to you without any personal affiliation other than making our Beach Wedding a delight! |
